I've spent more than twenty-five years as a consultant in technology and cybersecurity, and more than fifty as a believer in Christ. I'm a member of Scottsdale Bible Church, where I serve on the worship teams and serve in the men's group, The Forge, helping to disciple men and pointing them to Jesus. Trained in classical music at Northern Arizona University; father of two, Austin and Izzy.
My heart is for service and for evangelism: helping ordinary people meet the God whose forgiveness has no limit. That's what this site is: a table set every week, for anyone who wants to sit down. And since 2026 it's also where I coach and mentor men one-to-one and speak to churches and men's groups.
I lost a job at fifty-eight, walked into the Phoenix Seminary library, and came out with Matthew 18 and a book. Divorced, rebuilt, forgiven. If you're somewhere in the middle of that sentence, you're who I write for.

David and the giant.
Years before 490 Life, I built a little site called David Slays Goliath, a place to answer the giant-sized questions that keep people from God: What is the gospel? Can I trust the Bible? How do I even start reading it? What does a Christian life actually look like?
I named it for the shepherd boy who walked at a giant with a sling and five smooth stones, because that story is the whole gospel in miniature: the battle is the Lord's, and He wins it through the unlikely. Those teachings are moving here, one by one. The giants haven't changed, and neither has the God who fells them.
And the name on this site, 490, seventy times seven, is the answer Jesus gave when Peter asked how many times he had to forgive. Not a bigger number. The end of counting. I wrote a whole book about it, because I needed that answer as much as anyone I've ever preached it to.
